Forever and Ever
I really don’t consider myself a hardcore feminist but I’m all for equal pay for equal work and I don’t believe that only men can hold certain positions in the workforce. I am extremely grateful for all the women who came before me to fight the good fight and who trail-blazed, protested and made it their life’s mission to make sure that we women have come close to being equals during my lifetime.
Last summer during a few days of vacation, I visited the Women’s Rights Museum in Seneca Falls, NY and it was extremely enlightening. These 19th century women are the ones we have to thank for the rights and certain luxuries that we experience today and not movie stars like Cher, Madonna or Meryl Streep who really only care about themselves and how things affect their wallets. They pale in comparison to the numerous women who literally sacrificed their lives for the rights that we women enjoy today. We still have a bit further to go in respect to women’s rights, so feminism is alive and well and will live on – forever and ever.
