This Used To Be My Playground
I seem to reminisce more in the summer months and maybe it’s because my friends and I spent so much time together during the summer as we were growing up. The rest of the year we went to different local schools so we couldn’t spend as much time together. We’re all still friends to this day and see each other often but life isn’t the same as those carefree summers running back and forth to each other’s houses or going swimming or just sitting outside watching the cars drive by. The days were filled with laughter, fun and music.
As I was taking these shots in-world, I began to think of the Madonna song at the end of the movie ‘A League of Their Own’ and I remember when I first heard it how much it reminded me of when we were kids and how we each yearned to be a grown-up. Once we became grown-ups, how we now long for the more simple days of our youth. (For those of you who’ve never heard the song, the video is at the end of this post. Enjoy!)
