When word got out that the new Mayfair sim featuring the long anticipated opening of Celoe and Mon Tissu main stores, was being opened to group members this past Friday night, everyone converged on the sim like hawks diving to grab their prey. Avatar after avatar teleported in quickly and scurried like ants into either the Celoe or Mon Tissu stores. Not many of us could move around and I was one of them. Luckily for cam shopping, I managed to grab a few things before I decided to stop back the next morning and try my luck again. I’ve actually gone back a few times since Friday night and while I should add that the sim desperately needs to be restarted now, it’s worth the trip regardless. While you’re there take a look around the entire sim as you’ll be in awe of the build entirely done in mesh. Note: If you don’t have a mesh viewer you won’t be able to see things as is intended on this sim.
When mesh first came out, I wasn’t exactly impressed, I have to say. Clothes didn’t fit well and you couldn’t edit them. As a working model in SL, editing outfits is a must. Now, due to the standardized mesh sizing, I’m totally in love with mesh and will actually seek it out when I shop. I love how it fits, how it looks and how it moves. Clothing in SL has come such a long way since 2006 when I first logged in and mesh is definitely a step in the right direction.
