What happens when ice cream gets angry? It has a meltdown.

Over the years I’ve had several ice cream makers. I started out with the type that would churn the ice cream but you’d have to add ice and rock salt around the perimeter of the bowl for the ice cream to freeze. I quickly lost interest as it seemed much less time consuming to go to the store and pick up a half-gallon of my favorite ice cream.

Then I purchased a Cuisinart maker that you had to pre-freeze the bowl for at least 24 hours before you could start to churn the ice cream. It was a step-up from the rock-salt days but again I lost interest. I can’t tell you how many years the bowl for that machine sat in my freezer taking up space. It’s pretty embarrassing, actually, so I won’t even go there.

A few months ago, I came across a new type of ice cream maker on Amazon and I’m not even sure what it was that I was searching for on Amazon when it popped up. That’s how I buy most things on Amazon, because they pop up, and I didn’t even know that I needed or wanted them to begin with. LOL Anyway, this ice cream maker had a built-in compressor which means that all I had to do was pour in the ice cream base and plug it in. Betcha think I lost interest, huh? Not a chance. The bowl only makes a quart of ice cream at a time, but I’ve been making all kinds of flavors. Vanilla, Butter Pecan, Chocolate, Coffee, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Mint Chocolate Chip to name a few. This time I’m truly getting my money’s worth out of the ice cream maker and I’m having fun doing it. I’m not even an ice cream lover but I enjoy it once in awhile especially when it’s hot outside. If you ARE an ice cream lover then all the more reason to invest in one of these built-in compressor models they have for sale. Now, I’m screamin’ for ice cream!
