Can you teach an old dog new tricks?
A few weeks ago now, a friend told me about a new viewer called Aperture and since I already have 3 viewers on my computer I wasn’t all that enthusiastic about learning and using yet another viewer. That is, until I happened to sign into my SL Facebook account. As soon as I did, I noticed a post about the very same viewer that my friend had told me about so I decided to read more about it. When I saw that photographer, William Weaver, was behind this new viewer, I was all in and eagerly downloaded it. Even though the viewer was based on Firestorm and you can conveniently restore your settings into this new viewer, things still didn’t look the same and some settings didn’t restore properly. I also tried doing this after a long day at work and since I have absolutely zero patience I logged out.

While impatient, I’m also not one to be defeated so the next day I told myself that if I could learn how to use Black Dragon, I could learn Aperture. I watched William Weaver’s videos and joined the Aperture Discord channel and then logged back in. Because it’s based on Firestorm, Aperture has a familiar and comfortable feel to it, but the Phototools have been upgraded and updated! I never felt that the original Firestorm viewer took good pictures, even after Weaver created the Phototools for it. That’s why my viewer of choice to take pics was Black Dragon. As soon as you logged into BD, it had a whole different vibe and seemed more realistic even on the lowest settings. I got that same vibe when I logged into Aperture. I decided to try taking a few pics and today’s post includes those pics. I thought they turned out pretty well considering they were my first pics using the new viewer. What do you think?

First off, I would never call you a dog. (It is because I value my life too dearly)
You always do a fantastic job with your hair. Always perfect for the picture. Love – Love the tattoo. So unique. I really like the almost on jeans ( but I am a guy and my vision and motives may not be pure – smiles)
Thanks Ian and I appreciate the comment. I think most people shared your sentiment about the fuzzy pics since I didn’t get too many likes on Flickr. I guess I should just go back to what I know best! ♥
