Vesta Izzie Hat (A Tribute)

I was asked recently to sit for a vendor picture by the owner of Vesta who creates unique hats in Second Life. The hat was such an inspiration to me that I styled two different outfits even though I knew I only needed one for the vendor picture. I enjoyed creating both looks so I decided to blog the one that wasn’t used for the vendor before I had to return the hat to the creator. You’ll have to read further to understand why.

From Vesta creator:
In real life, milliner Philip Treacy made “The Ship” hat as a tribute to English magazine editor, Isabella Blow who was also Treacy’s muse. Ms. Blow was instrumental in discovering and promoting some of the most extraordinary designers of our age, including Alexander McQueen and Philip Treacy. Isabella died in 2007 and was mourned by the fashion community worldwide. Philip Treacy’s “The Ship” hat, adorned her coffin at her funeral.

There will only be 5 copies of the Izzie Hat hat made available over time. They will be exclusives used to raise money for SL charities. The first three copies will be available as follows:

Now you understand why I must return the hat to the creator. It was a pleasure to wear it at all even for a short while and hopefully I will be able to help raise funds for the great events listed above by helping to get the word out.
